Are you human? Of course, otherwise you wouldn’t be down in The Reserve.
Play as Kipper, a rural postman by day and a zealous insurgent by night, in a country colonized by vampires. Over two weeks, you’ll follow Tiamo, a polite Northerner and proclaimed writer whom Kipper suspects of steaming mail for the secret police.
Break into Tiamo’s apartment, read his private correspondence, and wiretap his calls. Document what you find and decide how far you’re willing to invade someone’s privacy.
The only thing Kipper hates more than vampires are mail censors.
Important context
Any resemblance to actual events, locales, or persons is coincidental. I’ve had the characters in my head for about 7 years, and the core plot for about 4 years.
The game is more rewarding to players who follow through to the end past the demo, so you might find Ending A disappointing, sorry!
About the Game
Dead Letters is a visual novel / point-and-click stalking game featuring:
- Routine postal tasks mixed with seditious conspiracies
- An eclectic cast of vampires and humans

- 1 of 7 total endings in the demo (1 week of 5 total)
- Randomly generated tasks and evidence

this was so fun!! the art is gorgeous (kipper is as handsome as he is unhinged), it was perfectly expressive and just beautiful all round (tiamo u are easy on the eyes indeed). did take me a bit to get used to the game mechanics and the dialogue did start floating in the middle of the screen for me at one point LOL but this was such an intriguing ride, the sound design had me so unsettled and the VA absolutely absolutely ate. im super excited to find out more, looking forward to week 2!!!! also yuri nation rise fr

Sorry to hear about the floating dialogue! Tyrano's speech and text system had me stressing because sometimes it would randomly keeps empty speech boxes on screen, the other times text floats;;;; Hopefully I can patch that soon! If you still remember, do you recall what scene triggered that?

The voice acting is 10/10 and I really liked how we can make our own conclusions on Tiamo though I feel like I might be wrong about him.

You are sooo right about the second part. Player's interpretations and Kipper's bias are designed to play a huge role in how Tiamo is perceived in each ending. I hope you return for the later weeks when there are more endings and more evidence of Tiamo to stalk!
More yurinationrise game!!! The art is so beautiful as always and the sheer amount of variety on gameplay is insane to me, how did you code and draw all that in 1 month... Even if there are some bugs (as comment below mentioned, I encountered it during the trash minigame as well), it's still really impressive and ambitious! Please tell me you got enough rest after this 😭
The story itself is really interesting! The VAs did an amazing job bringing the characters all to life! Overall, a nice game with beautiful visuals and intriguing plot!

I'm happy you enjoyed the art! I managed to get a lot of this out because I was being strategic and also pulling all-nighters (don't recommend). I'm sleeping well now, I promise.
Sorry to hear about the trash bug. Could you tell me what might've triggered it and what platform you're on? Testing on my Mac, it seems functional, but my Windows laptop exploded, so I had to use a friend's to package it for Windows and was unable to test it there. 😅
The VAs and composer who worked on this project really gave it life, and I'm glad we both think they did great <3
I'm glad to hear that you're getting enough rest now! As for the trash bug, I'm on windows and the peeking animation kept playing for me even if someone isn't technically peeking (it blinks off and on, so I continued to press when the animation is on after the footsteps are gone and it works). I think what triggered it was me clicking too frequently? I'll have to see if I can recreate the bug and screen record it so you can see it more clearly! Either way, I managed to progress the story despite that bug!

I personally had lots of trouble with the programming trash minigame, and I'm sorry to hear about the bug! 🫶 I'm still recovering from the 50 hour no sleep I pulled before the jam deadline but I will get on that ASAP!
